Elegantly crafted with detail, this Brooch 'shaped as a flamboyant butterfly' with 1882 in the belt (center)

The brooch signifies the First recorded celebration of the Mardi Gras in Southwest Louisiana and the arrival of Momus - the King of the Mardi Gras who came on his yacht from Lake Charles 

Cast in pewter, gold plated and enameled
Adler produced these for The Rex Organization and individually handed to parade goers on the debut of the New Butterfly King animated float in Mardi Gras 2006(according to info online)
Brooch weighs 16 grams and is 5 cm by 5 cm
